Our holistic approach to investment management includes financial planning so that we can best manage and counsel clients on investment and financial matters. This is a relationship business – your unique financial planning needs drive our strategies.
Everyone’s route is different. We’ve compiled our top resources and articles to guide you through whatever road is best for your future.
We are thinkers and we are doers.
A financial plan is a roadmap to take you where you want to go in life. This road may include raising a family and paying for college or helping with the care needs of parents. The final stop along the way is retirement. Some people want to take a slow and steady scenic route, while others want to go fast toward their destination. When creating a financial plan, we take current financial assets and project out into the future to show what things could look like down the road. Anyone can retire, but you want to be sure you can afford to retire in the way you envision. Many clients come away from a financial planning meeting with a sense of relief as they can quantify their retirement security. A plan can validate that you are on the right path to financial security in retirement, or it may highlight a need to pivot and make changes to financial habits in order to reach your goals.
Everyone can benefit from financial planning. Many think that financial planning is only for those who are getting to retire in the next few years; however, this is not the case. The sooner you get started on a financial plan, the more opportunity and knowledge you have to focus on position assets to achieve your goals. For those early in their careers, we have a “Starting Line Financial Plan” with very few data inputs needed to get you exposed to how the different levers work in saving for retirement. Even in retirement, we find projecting out planning scenarios for gifting to kids, grandkids or charity, as well as planning tax mitigation, are very valuable to our clients.
Today! We have a dedicated Financial Planning team at Bedell Frazier ready to answer your questions or begin designing a financial plan together. Planning is part of the service we offer to clients, and there is no extra expense associated with getting a plan in place.
Our planning process includes retirement planning, as well as social security analysis, college education planning for kids or grandkids, Stock options and RSU election timing, insurance analysis, tax planning for Roth Conversions and Qualified Charitable distributions, downsizing of home, passing assets to the next generation and long-term care planning as needed. If you can dream it, we can find a way to model it in our financial planning software.
At Bedell Frazier, planning is included in our investment management service; however, this is not the case with all investment firms. Financial Planning around the San Francisco Bay Area can cost between $250 to $500 per hour or more. Other Registered Independent Advisors set a plan minimum price with a range of $2,000 up to $20,000 for a retirement financial plan, depending on the complexity. At Bedell Frazier, financial planning is included at no additional cost to clients who have reached our minimum asset size. Our financial plans are designed to be dynamic, so when your life changes, the plan can be updated very quickly.
