‘Twas the night before Christmas

Covid variants kept coming
The spread went Delta then Omicron
Re-opening America has been bumpy
Recovery sure takes long
Supply chains got disrupted
Global ports were shut down
Cargo ships stuck in Long Beach
Imports couldn’t make it to town
Cyber-attacks continue ’round the clock
Our adversaries aim to steal
Global tensions are simmering
It’s dangerous and it’s real
The Digital Age is fast-moving
Cryptocurrencies are the preferred purse
Facebook did a major facelift
Welcome to the Metaverse
The Olympics took place in Tokyo
A year after delay
We can’t forget Athletes are human too
Simone Biles showed courage on display
Sir Richard Branson made history
His Virgin Rocket did the work
A new space race took off this year
That included Captain Kirk
It was a year for departures
Amazon’s Bezos called it a day
Bob Iger’s leaving Disneyland
While Brady won in Tampa Bay
In 2021 I turned 50
These past 5 decades taught a lot
20 years at this company
It’s been so worth taking that shot
We said goodbye to Hank Aaron
We lost Cicely Tyson, Sondheim, Dole, and Lasorda too
Colin Powell’s passing leaves a major void in America
Our national unity needs glue
The American spirit is peerless, time-tested and true
With perseverance and sound leadership, there’s nothing we can’t do
With crisis brings opportunity, history has shown
Success through ingenuity, it’s the fabric of our home
Now, Democrats! Now, Republicans!
Now, Independents and others!
Our nation requires collaboration!
We’re all sisters and brothers!
