‘Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the Street,
Not a creature was stirring
Not even a trade tweet
The stockings were hung
By the chimney with care
With hopes of tranquility
Permeating the air
The world has major challenges
Planet Earth is a complex place
Global norms are a changing
Disagreements need more grace
The Stock Market was in rally mode
The Yield Curve did invert
2019 was a contentious year
But the US Economy sure ain’t hurt
Brexit draws conclusion
Boris is the new boss
It’s still unclear how to do it
There’s no secret sauce
America and China cut a deal
It’s more like a truce
The Global Economy needs a kickstart
These two nations provide the juice
Central Banks keep printing money
Fed Chair Powell switched gears
The Stock Market demanded liquidity
It’s been that way for ten years
Meat from plants gained momentum
Burgers are now Impossible and Beyond
The healthy eating trend is irreversible
Millennials have proved that they’re fond
IPO’s had a record year
Silicon Valley was the source
Unicorn expectations skyrocketed
But their stocks took a lower course
The internet of things is exploding
Devices will be smarter with 5G
Phones today can do darn near anything
Nothing comes for free
We said goodbye to Doris Day this year
We lost Robinson, Buckner and Starr
Elijah Cummings and Eddie Money had the tickets
Perot and Volcker with cigar
The American spirit is peerless, time-tested and true
With perseverance and sound leadership, there’s nothing we can’t do
With crisis brings opportunity, history has shown
Success through ingenuity, it’s the fabric of our home
Now, Democrats! Now, Republicans!
Now, Independents and others!
Our nation requires collaboration!
We’re all sisters and brothers!
To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!
