‘Twas the weekend before Christmas, from coast to coast,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a cable news host.
Stockings were hung, by the chimney with care
With dreams of international harmony dancing through the air.
The Bull Market turned 5 this year,
Investor confidence remains low.
The US economy is accelerating,
The rest of the world needs to grow.
There’s a new Congress in Washington,
Perhaps compromise comes next,
Partisan politics are a tired game,
American voters are vexed.
Tensions grew in 2014,
Oil prices fell.
The Fed could start raising rates next year;
Only time will tell.
Janet Yellen runs the central bank.
QE3 came to an end.
Inflation is absent now;
Low rates are the trend.
The Giants returned as Series Champs
“Frozen” took the country by storm
Few predicted either of these
Surprises are the norm.
Apple reached new heights again.
The iPhone 6 is top notch.
Smartphones are getting smarter still,
Next up is the watch.
Robots supplanting people,
Drones might deliver our stuff.
Larger profits, increased efficiencies,
Replacing human kindness will be tough.
The American spirit is peerless, time-tested and true.
With perseverance and sound leadership, there’s nothing we can’t do.
With crisis brings opportunity, history has shown,
Success through ingenuity, it’s the fabric of our home.
Now, Washington! Now, Europe!
Now, Asia and beyond!
Everyone’s tired of the fighting
Personal responsibility will respond.
There’s reason for continued optimism.
Investments do pay off.
The DOW reached new highs this year;
It shouldn’t be treated with scoff.
To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!
