Mike’s Morning Brief – July 20, 2016

Market opened higher as earnings continue to pour in with a better than expected tone. Expectations were pretty low.  The DOW is going for a 9-day win streak for the first time in 20 years. It was 1996 the last time it happened.  Donald Trump is officially the Republican party’s Presidential candidate after securing the nomination last night.  UK Prime Minister May hits the road to meet with other European leaders.  The fate of Brexit is still an unknown.  The British unemployment rate hit the lowest levels in over 10 years, which is good.  The Dollar is at a 4-month high.  Interest rates are higher too, with the 10-Year Treasury yield at 1.57%.  Gold is getting knocked lower, but is still consolidating within a new uptrend in our work.  Crude is holding in at $44. There’s a lot going on right now on planet Earth.

Have a great day.

Mike
